Second Arrest Made in Connection to Fatal Shooting on Poole Road in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Raleigh Police Department has announced a second arrest in connection to a tragic shooting incident that occurred on Poole Road earlier this week, resulting in the death of a victim.

On Monday at approximately 3:33 p.m., Raleigh police responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Poole Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital with serious injuries, as stated by the police at the time.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday afternoon, Raleigh police sadly confirmed that the victim, identified as 24-year-old Amari Goss, had succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

In a recent development, the Raleigh Police Department announced on Saturday morning that they have apprehended and charged 20-year-old J’marree Andrel Smith with murder in connection to the fatal shooting incident on Poole Road.

This marks the second arrest made by Raleigh police in relation to this tragic event. Earlier in the week, a 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder.
