Second Suspect Arrested in Connection with Peoria’s First Homicide of the Year

PEORIA (25News Now) – In a significant development, authorities have announced the apprehension of a second suspect in connection with the City of Peoria’s first homicide of the year. Peoria Police reported that 25-year-old Mickael Williams was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday in the Dallas, Texas area.

Williams, who was identified as a second suspect towards the end of last month, had been considered to have fled the area. He is now awaiting extradition back to Peoria, where he will face charges related to the deadly shooting that occurred on January 4th on East Thrush Street. The victim of the incident, Arlin Bermudez, tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The arrest of Williams marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, which has already seen 39-year-old David Stone charged in connection with the same shooting. Authorities believe that the apprehension of both suspects will aid in establishing a clearer picture of the events leading up to the fatal incident.
