35-Year-Old Dayton Man Found Dead in House During Demolition identified
DAYTON – The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased person found in a house during demolition as 35-year-old Ryan Henson, a resident of Dayton.
The discovery of Henson’s body occurred on February 7th in the 1300 block of Huffman Avenue. Dayton Police Lt. Steven Bauer confirmed that officers responded to a report of a dead body at approximately 11 a.m.
The burnt-out house, located near Dayton Public Schools Wright Brothers Middle School, was being demolished by a private contractor when the body was found. Assistant Dayton Fire Chief Brad French stated that the body was discovered during the demolition process.
This property had previously experienced a fire on November 29, 2023, as reported by News Center 7. The intensity of the flames during the incident caused the building to become structurally compromised, making it unsafe for firefighters to enter. Consequently, an emergency demolition order was issued.

The death of Ryan Henson is currently under investigation by the Dayton Police Department. Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed at this time.
