Topeka Police conducted a thorough investigation, leading to the arrest and booking of Isaiah P. Myers, a 29-year-old resident of Topeka, at the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Myers is facing charges of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

In a previous development on February 3, Topeka Police had already detained two individuals in relation to the deadly shooting that occurred on Thursday, February 1. Tyron Wagner, aged 33, and Shi Ann Veloria Barnes, aged 29, were both taken into custody and booked at the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Wagner faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and a warrant. On the other hand, Barnes is charged with obstructing apprehension of prosecution and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The incident took place at approximately 4 a.m. on February 1, when Topeka Police responded to a shooting incident at the 2100 block of SE 12th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as Gabriel Martinez-Meraz, a 33-year-old resident of Topeka.
