Shots Fired Reported in Alexandria, Louisiana Neighborhood

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – On Monday, February 5th, at approximately 6PM, Patrol Deputies swiftly responded to a report of shots fired in the 4900 block of Victoria Drive in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Upon their arrival, the dedicated Deputies discovered compelling evidence of a shooting, prompting the immediate arrival of Sheriff’s Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit to conduct a thorough investigation.

Shortly after the initial incident, alert Deputies apprehended a person of interest, identified as the 19-year-old Tayshaun Lamar Spearman from Alexandria. However, this arrest was made in connection with an unrelated outstanding armed robbery warrant issued by the RPSO (Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office), and not directly related to the shooting that occurred on the previous night. Interestingly, the bond for the arrest related to 2nd-degree murder and armed robbery by the Alexandria Police Department was subsequently rescinded.

Later that night, at approximately 11:40 PM, Patrol Deputies were once again dispatched to the 4900 block of Victoria Drive in response to another incident involving shots fired.

Upon arrival, the diligent deputies discovered a juvenile victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. Acadian Ambulance promptly transported the young victim to a local hospital, unfortunately, the severity of the wounds proved fatal. Authorities are currently withholding the victim’s identity until the next of kin have been notified.

Additionally, another victim connected to the incident was privately driven to a local hospital to receive treatment for gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition.

Further investigation led to the identification of another person of interest, 20-year-old Malik Hampton from Alexandria. Hampton was subsequently arrested on outstanding warrants issued by the Alexandria Police Department.
