Marietta Auto Shop

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Four individuals, including three adults and one teenager, have been apprehended by the Marietta Police Department in connection with a series of break-ins at a Marietta auto shop and a subsequent shooting incident at a local motel.

According to Marietta police, the suspects first stole a vehicle in DeKalb County before proceeding to German Auto Repairs located at 1540 Roswell Road in Marietta. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on January 14.

Upon arrival at the auto shop, the suspects unlawfully entered the premises and caused significant damage to eight vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Shortly after leaving the auto shop, the suspects arrived at a motel situated at 2360 Delk Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. It was at this location that they targeted an individual who was dropping someone off at the establishment. As the targeted vehicle began to drive away, the suspects allegedly fired multiple rounds, striking the car a total of 14 times. Remarkably, one bullet managed to hit the driver in the head, but fortunately, it did not penetrate his skull, according to Marietta police.

Marietta police have identified the suspects as 19-year-old Giovanni Bown, 19-year-old Alijah Carter, and 17-year-old Khalil Lloyd. Each of these individuals now faces 12 felony charges, including eight counts of felony criminal damage to property, and two counts each of felony attempted armed robbery and felony aggravated assault with a weapon.

The two teenagers involved in the incident will face the same charges in juvenile court.

At present, one of the teenage suspects has been taken into custody, while the other remains at large, as confirmed by the Marietta police.
