Capitol Police Pursue Suspect in Mississippi

In a dramatic turn of events, Capitol Police in Mississippi attempted to pull over a vehicle in the vicinity of Ellis Avenue at approximately 5:33 p.m. However, the driver of the vehicle failed to comply with the officers’ instructions, leading to a brief pursuit. The driver quickly turned into a nearby subdivision, successfully evading the pursuing officers and disappearing from their sight.

Approximately 15 minutes later, Capitol Police officers were able to locate the same vehicle once again, reigniting the pursuit. This time, the chase continued until a devastating collision occurred at the intersection of County Line Road and Highway 49 North. The suspect’s vehicle collided with another vehicle, resulting in a collision involving both officers and the second vehicle.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the collision. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Jarvis Crump, managed to escape the wrecked vehicle and fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a female passenger and a two-year-old child.

Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, officers discovered the presence of a female passenger and the child inside the damaged car. The female passenger has been detained by the authorities, who are currently investigating her involvement in the incident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported for either the passenger or the child.
