Accident – Death – Obituary News : AURORA, Colo. — A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Aurora on Tuesday evening when a pedestrian, who was not using the designated crosswalk, was struck and killed by a pickup truck. The Aurora Police Department promptly responded to a crash report on East 6th Avenue near Kenton Street around 6 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 28-year-old Aurora man with life-threatening injuries. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office at a later time.

According to investigators, the man was walking south across 6th Avenue when a silver Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound collided with him. It is worth noting that the pedestrian was not utilizing the crosswalk at the time of the accident, as confirmed by Aurora police. The driver of the pickup truck, a 63-year-old Aurora resident, remained at the scene following the collision.

Authorities have determined that speed and intoxication were not contributing factors in the crash. As investigators collected evidence, East 6th Avenue had to be temporarily closed for less than two hours.
