Early on Tuesday morning, at approximately 6 am, the Vasant Vihar police station received a distress call reporting a murder in Kusumpur Pahadi, south Delhi. In the second case, a 30-year-old man named Monu Singh was stabbed near Pillar No 191 on Rohtak Road in Punjabi Bagh, west Delhi, during the early hours of Monday. A passerby promptly alerted the Punjabi Bagh police station via the police control room. Upon arrival, the police discovered Monu Singh bleeding from his wounds. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, and a case of attempted murder was registered, according to DCP (west) Vichitra Veer.
Tragically, Monu Singh succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Consequently, the murder section of the Indian Penal Code was added to the First Information Report (FIR). DCP Veer further added that multiple teams, including those from the police station and the district’s special staff, have been constituted to diligently investigate the case.
