Teen Girl Dies from Overdose at Phoenix Gas Station, Man Arrested

PHOENIX – Phoenix Police have reported that a teenage girl tragically lost her life due to a drug overdose. The incident took place in the early morning hours of Monday, February 5th, at a gas station located near the intersection of 27th and Northern avenues in Phoenix.

Police officers responded to a welfare check call at approximately 3:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Morning Gorman unresponsive inside a vehicle, accompanied by a man and two underage girls.

Gorman was immediately rushed to the hospital, but sadly, she did not survive.

Sgt. Phil Krynsky of the Phoenix Police Department revealed, “Detectives have determined that the man involved in this incident is 48-year-old Richmond Sam. It was established that Sam had picked up the three females from a nearby park the day before and had provided them with drugs throughout the evening.”

According to the two surviving underage girls, Gorman became unresponsive while they were at the gas station, prompting them to seek help.

Subsequently, investigators interviewed Sam, who allegedly confessed to providing drugs to all three girls.

Richmond Sam has been taken into custody and has been booked on charges including manslaughter, child abuse, and providing drugs to a minor.

The investigation into this tragic incident is currently ongoing.
