Evidence recovered at the scene by Sheriff’s Detectives led investigators to believe that the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is a silver 2017-2022 Chevrolet TRAX. The car in the provided photo bears a resemblance to the suspected vehicle.

Investigators estimate that the incident occurred between shortly after 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31. McColly’s body was discovered near the tracks close to Old Highway 10 East and Sietz Ronan Road on Sunday. In light of these developments, the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect vehicle and gathering any additional information that may aid in the investigation.

The press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office also requested individuals who have security cameras with coverage of Highway 10 East, particularly in the vicinity of Milwaukee Avenue, to review their footage from 10:00 to 11:00 pm on Wednesday. They are asked to check if their video captured the described vehicle or someone walking near the road during that time frame.
