Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Home Invasion Incident

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to a distress call on Tuesday afternoon, February 6th, from a homeowner in Alexandria. The caller reported a harrowing home invasion incident involving her ex-husband, identified as 47-year-old Scott Ingram.

Upon their arrival at the scene, deputies discovered Ingram suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Immediate medical attention was provided, and he was promptly transported to the hospital. Currently, medical professionals are evaluating his condition. Thankfully, the caller and her daughter were found unharmed outside the residence, although understandably shaken by the traumatic event.

Early investigations conducted by the authorities suggest that Ingram had attempted to forcibly enter the home, resulting in him being shot by one of the occupants. The police are working diligently to gather further evidence and information related to the incident.

Law enforcement officials have revealed that Ingram has an extensive criminal history. He has been implicated in four violations of a Protection From Abuse order and has been arrested six times since 2022. Moreover, an active warrant for violating a protection order was issued against him on Tuesday, February 6th, prior to the home invasion incident. It is also worth noting that Ingram is currently out on bond from a previous violation of a protection order dating back to late last year.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has taken charge of the ongoing investigation into this matter. They are working diligently to gather additional details and piece together a comprehensive understanding of the events that unfolded during the home invasion.
