Woman Arrested for DUI Manslaughter after Fatally Striking Pedestrian in Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Fla. – A 34-year-old woman was taken into custody on Monday following allegations of driving under the influence and fatally hitting a pedestrian in Hillsborough County last year.

According to authorities from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the tragic incident took place on December 19, 2023, at approximately 8:45 p.m. The collision occurred at the intersection of Harney Road and Williams Road in Thontosassa. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered a woman lying on the roadway.

Despite the immediate life-saving efforts, the victim, identified as 30-year-old Sabrina Rohrback, was sadly pronounced dead. Reports state that Rohrback was walking along the shoulder of Harney Road when the suspect, whose name has been identified as Warden, veered off the road, resulting in the fatal collision.

HCSO has disclosed that Warden has been charged with DUI manslaughter, child neglect, and DUI accompanied by a person under 18. Shockingly, it was revealed that Warden had a three-year-old child inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

According to the report, Warden’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was measured at 0.14 during the crash, which exceeds the legal limit by more than 0.06. This revelation further exacerbates the gravity of the situation.

Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his disappointment and heartbreak over the incident, stating, “This case is disappointing and heartbreaking on so many levels. An innocent woman lost her life due to someone’s recklessness, and a three-year-old child was put at risk of serious harm. I commend our detectives for conducting a thorough investigation, and I hope that this arrest can bring some form of healing to the grieving family.”

The investigation into the matter is still ongoing, as authorities continue to gather more evidence and information related to the case.
