Second Passenger Dies in Fairfax County Crash

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department announced today that a second passenger involved in a tragic crash that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning has tragically passed away.

The individual has been identified as 63-year-old Hong Tang from Fairfax.

According to police reports, the incident took place at approximately 9:42 a.m. at the intersection of Braddock Road and Bradfield Drive in Annandale.

Upon conducting a thorough investigation, authorities determined that a Lexus, attempting to make a left turn from Bradfield Drive, failed to yield to an oncoming BMW, resulting in a collision. The Lexus was carrying a total of five passengers, while the BMW had two occupants.

Tragically, one of the individuals traveling in the Lexus, a woman named Yun Hu, aged 72 and from Annandale, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

One passenger from the Lexus remains hospitalized, while the other four passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and discharged shortly after.

The Fairfax County Police Department has stated that they do not believe speed or alcohol played a role in the occurrence of the accident.
