Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kent Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from Federal Way, Washington, following a shooting incident that left a 58-year-old woman injured in Kent. The incident occurred at a residence in the 24200 block of 94th Avenue South.

According to a news release from Kent Police on February 5th, officers were called to the scene at approximately 2:28 p.m. after receiving reports of men attempting to kick in the door of the residence. The 911 caller stated that three men, one of whom may have been known to them, were armed with guns. Just before the officers arrived, dispatch informed them that shots had been fired inside the residence and a woman had been shot. The caller also reported that the men had fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Jetta.

In response to the incident, multiple Kent officers quickly flooded the area. A patrol officer who arrived at the scene spotted the Jetta attempting to leave the neighborhood. The officers conducted a high-risk vehicle stop, detaining all three men without any further incident.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Federal Way, who was identified as the shooter. Police reviewed video evidence of the incident, which showed that at least six shots were fired. The other two men, a 20-year-old from Federal Way and a 19-year-old from Seattle, were detained and interviewed by detectives. One of the men was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

The injured woman suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. She received immediate medical attention at the scene and was later transported to a local hospital for further treatment. It was later discovered that some of the bullets fired during the incident also struck the residence.

Detectives are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and to determine any additional charges that may be appropriate.
