Clearwater police have identified the victims in a deadly plane crash that occurred on Thursday, resulting in the loss of three lives.

On Thursday evening, a small plane crashed into the Bayside Water mobile home park, located south of the Clearwater mall. The incident took place at approximately 7 p.m., leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

Although as many as nine people were inside one of the mobile homes when the plane crashed into it, only two individuals remained inside at the time of the fiery collision.

Martha Parry, a 68-year-old resident of Clearwater, and Mary Ellen Ponder, a 54-year-old visitor from Treasure Island, were both on the ground at the time of the incident. The pilot, Jemin Patel, aged 54 and hailing from Melbourne Beach, also perished in the crash.
Clearwater Police Chief Eric Gandy expressed his condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the three victims and their families. This tragedy could have been even worse.”
