TAMPA Crash Victims identified: Clearwater Officials Release Names of Those Killed in Mobile Home Accident

TAMPA, Fla. – In a tragic incident on Thursday, an airplane crashed into a mobile home in the Bayside Waters 55+ community, claiming the lives of three individuals. Clearwater officials have now identified the victims, providing some insight into the unfortunate incident.

Victims identified

Among the deceased was Martha Parry, an 86-year-old resident of 2647 Pagoda Drive, the exact location where the plane crashed. Additionally, Mary Ellen Pender, aged 54 and hailing from Treasure Island, was also killed. Pender was visiting the mobile home at the time of the accident. The pilot of the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35, Jemin Patel, aged 54, also lost his life. Patel, a licensed pilot from Melbourne Beach, was at the controls during the tragic incident.

Ownership and Background

Aviation records indicate that the ill-fated plane was owned by Control Data Inc., a company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jemin Patel, the pilot, is listed as the owner of the company. This information sheds light on the ownership and potential responsibility in relation to the aircraft.

Details of the Incident

According to officials, the mobile home was hosting approximately ten individuals who had gathered after a day of golfing. However, most of the group had left just before the plane crashed. The aircraft had taken off from Vero Beach about an hour earlier but unfortunately experienced engine failure, leading to the tragic accident. The impact caused an intense fire that engulfed the mobile home, resulting in its complete destruction. Several neighboring homes also sustained damage due to the blaze.

The couple divided their time between Florida and Connecticut, enjoying the warmer weather during the winter months.

As the investigation continues into this tragic incident, the community mourns the loss of Martha Parry, Mary Ellen Pender, and Jemin Patel. The entire incident has left a deep impact on the Bayside Waters 55+ community, reminding us all of the fragility of life.
