Accident – Death – Obituary News : TIFTON, Ga. — A man has been charged in connection to a murder in south Georgia that occurred earlier this week, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

On Tuesday, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Tifton police received a distress call regarding a shooting incident on West 17th Street and South Central Avenue. Responding officers discovered the lifeless body of Brendan Rashad Burns, a 33-year-old male, who had succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Authorities conducted a thorough investigation and determined that a vehicle had stopped at the intersection and subsequently came under fire. The incident resulted in the tragic death of Burns.

During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified and apprehended. Xavier Sean Ross, a 34-year-old male, was found at Tift Regional Hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound. Once he is released from the hospital, Ross will be transferred to Tift County Jail.

The body of the deceased, Burns, will undergo further examination at the GBI Crime Lab as the investigation continues.

In other news, a separate incident unfolded in Gwinnett County, where a man was shot and killed at a family bakery. Initial reports inaccurately identified the victim as a woman, but the police have since clarified that the deceased is a 37-year-old man. The circumstances surrounding this case are currently under investigation.
