A 40-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Delhi’s Burari area on suspicion of having extramarital relations, as per the police report on Saturday.
Officials state that on Friday at approximately 04:43 AM, Delhi’s Burari Police station received a PCR call reporting “a lady lying in a pool of blood, who has been killed” at Satya Vihar.
Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was discovered with multiple injuries on her face.
The injured woman was immediately taken to Burari Government Hospital, where she was sadly declared dead, according to the police.
Subsequently, a case under Section 302 IPC was registered at the Burari Police station.
Following a thorough investigation, it was revealed that the victim’s spouse, Kundan Shah (46), confessed to murdering his wife on a Friday afternoon using a chisel.
The incident occurred while the couple was alone at home, with their children either at school or work.
Further questioning of the accused revealed that his wife had been consistently neglecting him for an extended period. This led him to believe she was involved in illicit relationships, causing his frustration and ultimately leading to the crime.
During the interrogation, the accused also disclosed his previous involvement in an assault case registered at Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar Police station.
The police have successfully retrieved the chisel used in the crime, as well as the victim’s mobile phone, which the accused had destroyed after committing the murder.
