Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Identify Teen Fatally Shot in Tragic Incident
Charlotte, N.C – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has released the identity of the teenager who tragically lost their life on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Melakah Corbette.

Authorities responded to a call for service in the early hours of the morning on Pitts Drive at approximately 1 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Corbette with severe gunshot wounds.
Tragically, Medic pronounced the victim dead at the scene, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of a young life.
