Teenager Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Struck by Car in Mansfield

A 17-year-old boy from Union, Connecticut, suffered severe injuries on Friday after being hit by a car in Mansfield, according to the Connecticut State Police. The incident took place around 11:50 a.m. on Storrs Road.

Upon receiving a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, troopers from Troop C swiftly responded to the scene. The collision occurred when a 49-year-old man from Chaplin, driving a Ford Fusion, was traveling south on Storrs Road. At the same time, the teenage boy was crossing the roadway from west to east when the Ford struck him.

The impact resulted in serious physical injuries for the young pedestrian who was immediately attended to by Mansfield Ambulance. He was subsequently transported to Hartford Hospital for further medical treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the Ford remained uninjured and stayed at the scene throughout the investigation, cooperating with the authorities.

The Connecticut State Police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of now, the details leading up to the collision remain under examination.
