Man Arrested After Hit-and-Run Involving School Bus in Calhoun County, Michigan
CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A man has been apprehended and sent to jail following a hit-and-run incident involving a school bus on Friday afternoon in Homer, Calhoun County.
On Friday at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash that occurred between a school bus and another vehicle. The school bus was carrying its driver and several children at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the school bus.
Law enforcement officials were able to identify the suspect as a 26-year-old man from Jackson County. The suspect was located on 25 ½ Mile Road near L Drive South and was subsequently taken into custody by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
During the arrest, authorities discovered that the suspect was in possession of a firearm, body armor, and burglary tools. As a result, the suspect is now facing numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including several related to firearms, and is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail.
