JERSEY CITY CRASH RESULTS IN FATALITY OF BAYONNE WOMAN

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning when a fatal collision took place on Route 185 near the intersection of Linden Avenue East, resulting in the loss of a Bayonne woman’s life, as announced by Hudson County Prosecutor, Esther Suarez.

According to a statement issued by authorities, the accident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. when a 2019 Nissan passenger vehicle collided with the rear of a parked and unoccupied tractor trailer.

The driver, a 28-year-old resident from Staten Island, and a 27-year-old passenger from Old Bridge were both injured in the collision. They were quickly transported to Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC), where they received medical treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries and were later released. Unfortunately, Stephanie Weymouth, a 31-year-old passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders shortly after 1:00 a.m.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. However, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
