Citrus Heights police have made a significant breakthrough in a case involving armed robbery, attempted kidnapping, and false imprisonment. On Thursday, they announced the arrest of 43-year-old Paul Gasser, who was apprehended in Folsom following an intense investigation into the distressing events that occurred on 16th January. The incident involved a female employee who made a distress call around 3:30 p.m., reporting that she had been threatened at knife-point within a business establishment situated on the 6000 block of Sunrise Boulevard.

According to authorities, the suspect allegedly held a knife to the employee’s throat and attempted to abduct her. Additionally, he demanded cash before fleeing the premises. Despite an immediate and extensive search effort involving multiple officers and a K9 unit, the suspect managed to elude capture. However, the diligent work of Citrus Heights Police Department’s Investigation and Impact Units ultimately led to the identification of Paul Gasser and his subsequent arrest.

As of 3rd February, Gasser remains in custody at the Sacramento County Jail and is currently ineligible for bail. This arrest marks a significant achievement for the Citrus Heights police, highlighting their commitment to maintaining public safety and swiftly bringing perpetrators to justice.
