Citrus Heights police announced on Thursday that they have made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery, attempted kidnapping, and false imprisonment. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Paul Gasser, was apprehended in Folsom after an investigation into a distressing incident that took place on 16th January. The police received a distress call from a female employee who had been threatened at knife-point within a business located on the 6000 block of Sunrise Boulevard at approximately 3:30 p.m.

According to reports, the suspect held a knife to the employee’s throat and attempted to kidnap her, while also demanding cash before fleeing the scene.

Despite an immediate search effort involving numerous officers and a K9 unit, the suspect managed to evade capture. However, thanks to the diligent work of the department’s Investigation and Impact Units, Gasser was identified and subsequently arrested.

As of 3rd February, Sacramento County Jail inmate records indicate that Gasser remains in custody and is currently ineligible for bail.
