Woman Faces Federal Charges for Indecent Exposure Incident on Frontier Airlines Flight

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Dulce Huertas, a 60-year-old woman, is now facing federal charges after she was caught on camera pulling down her pants and flashing passengers during a Frontier Airlines flight from Orlando to Philadelphia in November last year.

According to court records filed on Tuesday, Huertas has been charged with indecent exposure, assault, and interfering with flight crew members.

The incident, which caused distress among fellow passengers, was captured on camera by Julie Hartman, who shared the footage with News 6. In the video, Huertas can be heard apologizing before pulling down her pants and squatting in the aisle.

An FBI affidavit filed on Tuesday revealed that Huertas had consumed two alcoholic drinks during the flight and expressed the need to use the restroom just before landing. However, a flight attendant instructed her to remain seated, leading to an altercation between Huertas and the attendant.

Upon landing, Huertas continued her aggressive behavior, cursing at passengers around her. Security personnel were called to assist in handling the situation.

The affidavit states, “Once the plane arrived at the gate and the seatbelt sign was turned off – but before any external doors were opened to allow passengers to leave the aircraft – Huertas resumed her aggressive behavior and pushed passengers out of the way as she moved to the front of the plane.”

As Huertas approached the lavatory, flight attendants prevented her from passing, leading her to pull down her pants and underwear as if she intended to urinate in the aisle. However, she quickly pulled her pants back up and confronted a flight attendant.

Throughout the incident, Huertas was heard yelling, cursing, and threatening to harm multiple passengers. Concerns were raised that she might attempt to open one of the external doors or activate an emergency slide.

Huertas was eventually arrested and released on bond. She now awaits further legal proceedings.

Julie Hartman, who witnessed the incident, expressed her shock and concern on Facebook. She wrote, “A passenger was upset that she was required to sit in her assigned seat and decided to pull her pants down on the plane right in front of two children. I literally had a front-row seat to the spectacle. She threatened to kill another passenger. She threatened me after I told her to sit down. I hope she was arrested and banned from flying ever again.”

The incident highlights the importance of maintaining appropriate behavior on flights and the potential consequences of disruptive actions. Airlines and law enforcement agencies continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of passengers and crew members.

It serves as a reminder that incidents like these can lead to serious legal repercussions. Passengers are encouraged to follow instructions from flight attendants and to report any concerning behavior to ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for everyone.
