Hubballi, Kalaburagi: A shocking incident unfolded in MTS Railway Colony on Karwar Road in Hubballi, as a 24-year-old man was found brutally murdered on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Vijay Basava, was discovered by passersby who spotted a half-burnt body with a boulder nearby. Basava, a resident of Heggeri in Maruti Nagar, worked as a team leader for a mobile service provider.

According to Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar, the incident came to light in the morning, and the motive behind the murder is yet to be determined. The Old Hubballi police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter.

Family sources of the victim revealed that Basava used to return home late at night. They recounted their last conversation with him, stating that he had informed them he was on his way home when they called him around 10:30 pm. However, when they tried reaching him again at 1 am, his phone was switched off. It was later discovered that his body was found at MTS Colony.

Police suspect that Basava may have been involved in a party with his friends at a deserted location, which could have led to a quarrel over certain issues. However, further details and evidence are being examined to establish the truth.
