DAVIS – A DUI suspect went momentarily airborne in a crash in Downtown Davis – and it all happened right in front of police officers.
The incident occurred on January 7th. According to the Davis Police Department, several patrol officers were parked in the city parking lot near the Boy Scouts cabin early that morning when they observed a sedan speeding down F Street.

Officers stated that the sedan disregarded the stop sign at the F and 1st street intersection and drove directly into the parking lot. The sedan then collided with a parked car, causing it to ricochet and crash through a wrought iron fence.
At this point, the sedan became airborne and landed on Richards Boulevard near the underpass, miraculously landing on its wheels.
Police authorities emphasize that if downtown had been busier that night, the crash could have resulted in fatalities. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
