Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a shocking turn of events, a man has been accused of breaking into a cafe in Osceola County and stealing a cake. The incident occurred on January 30, 2024, and the suspect has been identified as Brandon Campos, a 24-year-old individual.

According to reports, the incident took place during a birthday party at the cafe. Campos arrived at the scene with weapons in the back of his car. His uncle, alarmed by his behavior, immediately called the police and informed them about Campos being armed. When officers tried to talk to Campos as he was leaving the premises, he refused to comply with their instructions.

In an attempt to subdue him, the officers used a taser, but unfortunately, it had no effect on Campos. Instead, he started shooting at the officers, injuring two of them. Despite the efforts of other officers to chase after him, Campos managed to escape.

However, the story took a tragic turn when it was discovered that Campos had killed his grandfather before being shot and killed by the police. The investigation further revealed that the car Campos was driving was registered to a home where two more people were found dead, including a Catholic priest named Bob Hoffner.

Father Hoffner had served as a priest since 1973, starting at the Good Shepherd Parish in Orlando and later moving to Palm Bay in Brevard County. Palm Bay police confirmed that Hoffner and his sister Sally were both murdered in their home. The investigation revealed that Campos had taken the car registered to Hoffner to the birthday party, carrying a cache of weapons with him.

Palm Bay Police Chief expressed his shock and stated that they are still trying to determine the motive behind Campos’ actions and why he brought such violence to the area. He commended the officers for their actions, stating that they prevented an even more tragic incident from occurring.

The Catholic Diocese released a statement expressing their grief over the loss of Father Hoffner and his sister. They described Father Hoffner as a compassionate and humble servant of God, whose presence will be deeply missed.

Currently, one of the injured officers has been released from the hospital, while the other is still undergoing treatment but is expected to recover.

In other news, a man from Marion County, identified as Sal Garcia Macias, appeared before a judge on charges of second-degree murder. Macias is accused of shooting his 17-year-old girlfriend, Sofia Lugo, who was found dead in an Ocala home. Macias claimed innocence and pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, in Ocala, a mother is facing charges after her nine-month-old baby died of an overdose. The baby had fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other substances in its system. The mother, Cassie Kincaid, has been charged with trafficking and aggravated manslaughter.

Additionally, a doctor in Polk County is facing charges of secretly recording a child who was changing in his office. Paola Gayet, a physical therapy doctor, allegedly had a hidden camera in the changing room. She has been charged with video voyeurism and tampering with evidence.

Lastly, Volusia County deputies are seeking suspects involved in a recent burglary of a home in Deland. Surveillance footage captured individuals ransacking the house and stealing jewelry. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers.

In a separate incident, three soldiers assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, a U.S. Army Reserve unit based in Fort Morgan, Georgia, were killed in Jordan after a drone struck a base near the Syrian border.
