The clash erupted when the participants of the PPP rally tried to assert their presence by displaying their party flag in front of the MQM-P office. However, the MQM-P workers objected to this action, leading to a heated scuffle between the workers of both parties. The situation quickly escalated when unknown assailants began firing indiscriminately from vehicles, intensifying the chaos and violence in the area.

Response from Authorities

Upon receiving reports of the violent clash, a heavy contingent of police and rangers swiftly arrived at the scene. Their immediate response led to the apprehension of four individuals suspected of involvement in the firing. Despite the presence of law enforcement, the firing continued, resulting in two additional casualties. In an attempt to provide medical aid, one of the injured individuals was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in a private vehicle, while the other was taken in a police mobile. However, due to the persistent gunfire, the police mobile was unable to leave the area. Eventually, both injured individuals were transferred to a Vigo vehicle and taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where one of them tragically succumbed to their injuries.

Identification of the Deceased and Injured

The police have identified the deceased individual as 44-year-old Faraz Ahmed Qureshi, son of Ghayyur Ahmed Qureshi. Faraz Ahmed Qureshi was a resident of Paposh Nagar and held the position of in-charge of the MQM-Pakistan Gulbahar Sector Unit 38. The injured youth has been identified as 25-year-old Rao Muhammad Talha, son of Rao Muhammad Saleem, who is a PPP worker. After receiving initial medical aid, Talha was transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.

Subsequent Actions

Following the intervention of a heavy contingent of Rangers, the firing finally ceased. A fire brigade vehicle also arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames that had engulfed two double cabin vehicles, leaving them completely destroyed. The deceased worker, Faraz Ahmed Qureshi, was laid to rest at the KF graveyard in New Karachi after fulfilling the necessary legal procedures. The police have arrested four individuals on suspicion of involvement in the firing and have initiated a thorough investigation. Several shells recovered from the crime scene have been sent for forensic testing to gather further evidence.
