Decatur Man Dies in Head-On Crash Caused by Reckless Driver

Investigation Underway as Charges Awaited

DECATUR, Ga. — A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Decatur, Georgia, resulting in the death of a local resident due to the reckless actions of another driver. The Decatur Police Department reported that a Dodge Charger was observed traveling recklessly on South Candler Road shortly before 7 a.m.

Eyewitnesses stated that the Charger, in an attempt to overtake another vehicle, dangerously crossed into oncoming lanes and collided head-on with an Infiniti QX4. The violent impact caused critical injuries to a passenger in the Infiniti.

The victim, identified as 63-year-old Frankie Gresham, sadly succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The entire community mourns the loss of this beloved individual.

The Decatur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the accident, working to reconstruct the sequence of events and gather all necessary evidence.

At this stage, charges against the driver of the Charger have not yet been announced. However, law enforcement assures the public that justice will be served once the investigation is complete.
