The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have made a breakthrough in a shocking abduction and murder case that took place in Wakad. Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the heinous crime, where a 38-year-old worker lost his life. The incident came to light when a private hospital in Theragon reported the death of the injured man, identified as Bhuwal alias Manoj Jagdish Maurya, on January 26.

According to the police, two unknown persons brought Maurya to the hospital on Friday. Further investigation into the matter revealed that the victim had been admitted by the unidentified individuals. Acting swiftly on the information, the police registered a case at Wakad police station under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 143 (unlawful assembly), 145 (joining or continuing in unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offense committed in prosecution of common object).

The accused have been granted seven days of police custody for further investigation, as ordered by the court. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shubham Vhalekar, Sagar Jadhav, Kunal Bharam, Saurabh Waghmare, Akshay Patil, and Dinesh Mhaske.

Lalmuni Maurya, the wife of the deceased, filed a complaint with the police, which prompted them to launch an extensive investigation. Various teams were formed to probe the incident and gather evidence.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the accused, led by Shubham Vhalekar, were involved in the murder of Maurya. The motive behind the crime was revealed to be a financial dispute. Maurya had taken an advance payment of ₹50,000 from Vhalekar for painting services. However, Maurya failed to complete the work and refused to return the money. Enraged by this, Shubham, along with the other accused, abducted Maurya and took him to a shed in Vhalekarwadi. There, they brutally assaulted him using PVC pipes.

Following the attack, Maurya lost consciousness, and Dinesh Mhaske, Akshay Patil, and two others rushed him to a nearby hospital before fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, despite medical treatment, Maurya succumbed to his severe injuries.

Through the analysis of CCTV footage, the police identified an auto rickshaw that was used to transport Maurya to the hospital. Upon interrogating the auto driver, he confessed to his involvement in the crime. Subsequently, the police arrested the remaining accused in the case.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have left no stone unturned in their efforts to bring justice to the victim and his family. The accused individuals will now face the legal consequences of their actions, thanks to the diligent work of the police force.

The investigation into this shocking abduction and murder case is ongoing, and the police are determined to uncover all the facts surrounding the incident. The court has granted the police seven days of custody of the accused for further interrogation and investigation.
