SHREVEPORT, La. – Louisiana State Police in Lincoln Parish locate missing children from Florida

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Louisiana State Police in Lincoln Parish successfully located two children who were reported missing from Florida on Friday. The search was initiated after receiving information from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Florida regarding an AMBER Alert. The alert stated that the missing children were believed to be traveling westbound on Interstate 20.

Traffic stop leads to the recovery of missing children

At approximately 12:13 p.m., State Troopers in Troop F initiated a traffic stop on a silver Nissan Rogue that matched the description of the suspect vehicle listed in the AMBER Alert. The vehicle came to a brief stop on I-20 Westbound, just east of LA-145, before the driver fled the scene.

State Troopers and Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Deputies pursued the Nissan and successfully deployed a tire deflation device, bringing the vehicle to a halt. The driver, identified as 41-year-old Dixie Williams, was taken into custody without incident. The missing children, a one-year-old female and a five-year-old female, were safely recovered.
