CHESTERFIELD (WWJ) – A devastating two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 39-year-old woman from Chesterfield Township on Friday night. The incident took place at the intersection of Gratiot Ave. and 25 Mile Road. Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing from the scene, leaving the second driver wanted by the police.
Police Respond to a Serious Traffic Crash
The Chesterfield Township Police Department received multiple reports of a severe traffic accident around 9:13 p.m. on January 26. Upon arrival, officers were met with a chaotic scene, with debris scattered across the road and significant damage to two vehicles involved – a Kia sedan and a Ford F-250.
Tragic Discovery at the Crash Scene
As officers approached the Kia, they discovered the lifeless body of the 39-year-old female driver, whose identity has not been disclosed. The driver of the Ford pick-up truck, however, was nowhere to be found. Witnesses informed investigators that they saw a man fleeing the area shortly after the collision occurred.
