Sad News from Zion National Park: Hiker Succumbs to Suspected Cardiac Event

SPRINGDALE, Utah (ABC4) — A tragic incident unfolded in Zion National Park on Friday when a 63-year-old hiker from San Diego, California, lost his life after experiencing what park officials suspect to be a “cardiac event.”

The National Park Service responded to a distress call reporting an unconscious hiker on the popular West Rim Trail, near Scout Lookout.
