Vijayawada Man Commits Suicide after Wife Refuses Money for Alcohol
Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh: In a tragic incident reported from Gudivada town in Krishna district, a 33-year-old man hanged himself from a ceiling fan after his wife denied him 500 rupees for alcohol consumption. The deceased, identified as Sheikh Kanna Saheb, was a daily wage laborer residing in Karmika Nagar with his wife and children.
According to the local police, Kanna Saheb, who hailed from Chebrolu village in Unguturu mandal, had been struggling with alcohol addiction. He had previously taken a loan of 2,500 rupees from his employer and given the amount to his wife.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday when Kanna Saheb asked his wife for 500 rupees, but she refused. This led to a heated argument between the couple, and the man threatened his wife with dire consequences. Taking advantage of his wife’s absence, Kanna Saheb borrowed money from an acquaintance and consumed alcohol.

When Kanna Saheb’s wife returned home on Thursday night with their children, she found the main door locked. Alarmed, she sought help from the neighbors to break open the door. To her shock, she discovered her husband’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The Gudivada One Town police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.

A 54-year-old woman, Omana, was seriously injured when her husband, Murugan, attacked her with an axe in Ernakulam North. The incident occurred on Friday, and the victim was admitted to Ernakulam General Hospital. Police are searching for Murugan, who fled the scene and has been identified as a laborer.
