Accident – Death – Obituary News : A woman has been taken into custody in Prince George’s County, Maryland, following a series of stabbings and hit-and-run crashes that left at least six people injured, some critically, on Thursday evening. The police have identified her as a person of interest and are currently investigating the incidents, which occurred in Capitol Heights and Lanham over a span of approximately ninety minutes.

During a news conference, Deputy Police Chief James McCreary provided details of the attacks. Two individuals are in critical condition, including a teenager who was struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident and subsequently stabbed. Another victim, a man, was wounded at a gas station in a separate attack. Four others sustained injuries in hit-and-run crashes but are expected to recover.

Before her arrest, the police department released a photograph of the person of interest, describing her as a woman driving a dark-colored sedan. The first incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Forest Park Drive and Ritchie Road in Capitol Heights. A woman walking on the sidewalk was hit by a car, sustaining minor injuries.

Approximately ten minutes later, the driver allegedly struck two more pedestrians at 20 Ritchie Road. It is believed that she then exited the vehicle and stabbed a 15-year-old, critically injuring them. An adult man was also injured in the same incident but is expected to survive.

At around 5:30 p.m., another pedestrian was struck in the 1400 block of Addison Road South in Capitol Heights. Fortunately, the man’s injuries were not life-threatening. Shortly after, another pedestrian was hit in the 1000 block of Addison Road South, suffering minor injuries.

The series of violent crimes concluded with a stabbing at a gas station in the 9100 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham. A man was critically injured in this incident.

Deputy Police Chief McCreary clarified that although the woman in custody is considered a person of interest, she has not been classified as a suspect at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any relevant information.
