Seattle Man Arrested for Stalking Taylor Swift

NEW YORK (AP) — A Seattle man accused of repeatedly stalking and harassing pop star Taylor Swift has been ordered to be held without bail following his recent arrests in front of Swift’s home in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood.

David Crowe’s Arrest and Charges

David Crowe, a 33-year-old man from Seattle, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday. He faces a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal contempt, as confirmed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. The court also ordered Crowe to undergo a psychiatric examination.

Crowe’s arrest comes after he violated a protective order issued on Wednesday, which commanded him to stay away from Swift, her residence, and refrain from any form of communication with her.

Multiple Arrests and Ongoing Harassment

On Wednesday, Crowe was apprehended by the police in response to complaints about his erratic behavior near Swift’s townhouse. Following his arraignment and issuance of the protective order, he was arrested once again in close proximity to Swift’s residence.

Court documents reveal that an unidentified security worker witnessed Crowe near the singer’s home approximately 30 times since November 25. Despite being asked repeatedly to leave and not approach the building, Crowe persisted, according to prosecutors.

Legal Representation and Declined Commentary

Crowe is being represented by New York County Defender Services, who declined to comment on the ongoing case. In an email, spokesperson Lupe Todd-Medina stated, “We have no additional statement. We rely on the statements made in court today.”
