Arrest Made in Statesville Larceny Incident: James Clifford Collins Jr. Charged

A 45-year-old man, identified as James Clifford Collins Jr. of Branchwood Road in Statesville, has been apprehended by the Statesville Police officers. Collins is facing charges of felony larceny and possession of stolen goods or property.

Incident at Courtyard Marriott

On Monday, January 22, at approximately 9:00 am, the Statesville Police Department received a distress call from the Courtyard Marriott on Cinema Drive. The call reported a larceny incident, prompting immediate police action. Upon reaching the scene, investigators were briefed by a production crew that had been staying at the hotel.

The production crew informed the authorities that their valuable equipment and personal belongings had been left unattended in the hotel’s parking lot for a short period. However, upon their return to the parking lot, they were disheartened to find that their possessions had been stolen.

Collaborative Efforts Lead to Suspect Identification

Determined to solve the case swiftly, investigators launched a collaborative effort with nearby businesses in order to track down the culprits. Their diligent work paid off as they were able to identify the suspect vehicle, a green 2001 Nissan Altima, involved in the crime. It was later revealed that James Clifford Collins Jr. was the individual responsible for the theft.

Fortunately, through the dedicated efforts of law enforcement, all the stolen property belonging to the production crew was successfully recovered. Collins was then taken into custody and a $5,000 secured bond was issued against him. As of today, January 26, he is not listed as an inmate in Iredell County. However, a District Court appearance for Collins has been scheduled for February 15.
