Ahsja St. George, Delarick’s sister, shares fond memories of her brother, describing him as a loving person who cherished his family. She recalls his goofy nature, always ready to bring laughter to their lives. The pain of losing him has been overwhelming for the family.

On November 13, 2023, around 4:37 pm, Chambers County received a distressing 911 call reporting an unresponsive man lying in the front yard of a residence. The body was identified as Delarick St. George, leaving his family in shock and disbelief.

After seventy-three days of relentless efforts by the Lanett Police and U.S. Marshalls, a breakthrough was made. They arrested Jetterio Booker, a 35-year-old suspect allegedly involved in Delarick’s murder on South 12th Avenue in Lanett.

The arrest has brought some relief to Ahsja and her family, as they have anxiously awaited justice. Ahsja expresses gratitude for the progress made in the case, emphasizing the importance of patience during such investigations.

Ahsja’s message to other families facing similar situations is to remain patient and allow law enforcement to do their job. She acknowledges that justice takes time and advises families to give themselves space to grieve, as the healing process is a lifelong journey.

Reflecting on her last conversation with Delarick, Ahsja finds solace in the fact that they exchanged “I love you” before his tragic death. The memory of those final words brings her comfort amidst the immense pain.

Although their community is small, Ahsja reveals that they are acquainted with Booker, but the connection between him and Delarick remains unknown. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed by the police, urging anyone with information to come forward.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Lanett Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 334-644-5295 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at www.215stop.com.

“We are relieved this chapter is over because it provides a form of closure. However, there is still a long road ahead for our family. We miss Delarick tremendously, and our family is forever changed. We will continue to advocate for Delarick until justice is served.”
