Close Call for Windsor County Sheriff’s Deputy as Driver Nearly Collides with Parked Cruiser in Weathersfield

A Windsor County Sheriff’s deputy had a frightening experience on Thursday morning when another driver came dangerously close to colliding with his parked cruiser in Weathersfield.

According to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy William Solari was on duty and had parked his fully marked Sheriff cruiser on the north side of Vermont Route 12 just before 9 a.m. Suddenly, a driver veered off the road and came within inches of hitting Solari’s vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle has been identified as 43-year-old Nathan Langner from Claremont, New Hampshire. Miraculously, Langner managed to swerve at the last moment, causing only a minor dent on Solari’s cruiser.

In a shocking turn of events, Langner fled the scene after the crash. However, Solari quickly pursued and apprehended him a short distance away.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The swift actions of other deputies at the scene prevented what could have been a devastating collision between Langner’s vehicle and the Sheriff’s cruiser.

As a result of his reckless behavior, Langner has been cited for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision and negligent operation. He is scheduled to appear in court in March to face these charges.

Additionally, Langner has also received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint due to his failure to provide proof of insurance.
