White Jeep Grand Cherokee Found in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – Deputies in Washtenaw County have located a white Jeep Grand Cherokee believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian over the weekend. Although the vehicle has been found, no arrests have been made at this time.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office discovered the SUV in Superior Township on Wednesday night, three days after the tragic incident occurred. While they have identified the person allegedly involved, the investigation is still ongoing.

On January 21, around 8:20 a.m., deputies responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Prospect Rd. and Park Ln. in Superior Township. Sadly, a 53-year-old Ypsilanti woman lost her life in the incident.
Based on their preliminary investigation, authorities believe the victim was walking along Prospect Road during the night when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee did not stop at the scene and fled in the direction of Geddes Road.
Parts of the suspect vehicle were recovered at the crash site, confirming that it was a white 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was described as having damage to the front passenger side of the hood, grill, and quarter panel area.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office sought the public’s assistance in locating the SUV, urging anyone with information to come forward. Thanks to the collective effort of the community, the vehicle was located on January 24.
The sheriff’s office expressed their gratitude to everyone who shared their post, helped spread the word, and provided tips that led to the discovery of the vehicle.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to gather more evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run. The victim’s family and the community are hoping for justice to be served.
