Three Men Charged in Connection with East London Shooting

Almost a year has passed since a shooting incident occurred in east London, Ontario, resulting in one person being hospitalized. Now, the police have laid charges against three individuals from Hamilton and Brantford, believed to be involved in the incident.

According to a previous report by CTV News London, at around 12:50 p.m. on February 21, 2023, the police received an emergency call regarding a “possible shooting” at a residence on Langmuir Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities discovered a victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

The injured individual was promptly transported to the hospital, where their injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle had already fled the scene before the arrival of the police.

In a recent update from the police, the Major Crime Section has pressed charges relating to the shooting incident. The investigation led to the joint charging of a 29-year-old man from Brantford, a 45-year-old man from Hamilton, and a 23-year-old man from Brantford.

The charges against the three suspects, issued through warrants of arrest, include aggravated assault, armed robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, possession of a firearm other than a restricted or prohibited firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, and disguise with intent.

In addition, the 29-year-old suspect faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

While the 29-year-old and 45-year-old suspects are already in custody for unrelated matters, the 23-year-old suspect, identified as Hayden Denton from Brantford, remains at large. Consequently, the police are seeking assistance from the public in locating Denton.

Denton is described as a white male, approximately 6’0″ tall, with dirty blond/brown hair and brown eyes. Unfortunately, a photograph of the suspect is currently unavailable.
