Man Arrested for Stalking Taylor Swift’s New York Apartment

For the third time in five days, a man facing stalking and harassment charges has been arrested near Taylor Swift’s New York apartment. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old David Crowe, was apprehended outside the pop star’s residence after leaving his arraignment hearing on Jan. 24.

The New York Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a report of a “disorderly male” near Swift’s home. Upon arrival, the man left the location and was subsequently taken into custody without incident at the 1st Precinct. It remains unclear if additional charges will be filed against Crowe for the Jan. 24 incident.

During his arraignment, Crowe was granted supervised release. He currently faces three stalking and harassment charges for allegedly being spotted around Swift’s apartment building approximately 30 times between Nov. 25, 2023, and Jan. 22, 2024.

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Crowe repeatedly claimed to security personnel that he wanted to “talk to” Swift. According to court documents obtained by NBC News, his behavior escalated in recent days.

Prior to his Jan. 24 arrest, Crowe was picked up on Jan. 22 when multiple individuals approached uniformed NYPD officers for assistance. Complainants described Crowe as being in an “emotionally disturbed” state, acting erratically at the scene. The officers observed him harassing multiple people and took him into custody without any reported injuries.

On Jan. 20, police responded to another 911 call involving Crowe. The report described him as a disorderly person near Swift’s apartment. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Crowe had an active warrant, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Crowe is scheduled to appear in court again on Mar. 12.

Concerns over Swift’s safety have been ongoing. In 2018, the pop singer employed facial recognition technology to identify and track potential stalkers at her concerts.

A representative for Swift has not yet responded to NBC News’ request for comment.
