Accident – death – Obituary News : COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Tragedy struck on New Year’s Eve in Cocoa Beach, Florida, as a traffic crash claimed the lives of two individuals. The latest victim, Jenny Renee Golden, 50, of Cocoa Beach, passed away from her injuries on January 24th, according to the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

The incident took place just after 9 p.m. on December 31st, when officers from the Cocoa Beach Police Department responded to a report of a crash with multiple injuries on West Cocoa Beach Causeway, near Bicentennial Park. When they arrived at the scene, officers discovered a collision involving two vehicles, with debris scattered across the roadway.

The crash involved not only the drivers but also passengers in each vehicle. All individuals involved were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the passengers, identified as 70-year-old Pamela Morrison from Barney, Georgia, succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash.

Preliminary investigations by the police department indicate that the collision was a result of a high-speed rear-end collision. The officers determined that one of the drivers, 36-year-old Mark Vannicola, was not only driving recklessly but also under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Vannicola was taken into custody and booked into the Brevard County jail on multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, DUI with serious bodily injury, and being a habitual DUI offender. His bond has been set at $620,000.
