Olean Police Reports

On Tuesday afternoon at around 2:03 p.m., there was a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of the Interstate 86 off-ramp and Route 16 in Olean. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The collision occurred when Dylan A. Strode, a 32-year-old resident of 718 Fountain St., failed to maintain a safe distance and struck the rear of Lecory D. Jacobs’ vehicle. Lecory D. Jacobs, a 34-year-old from Belfast, was stopped at the time. Following the incident, Strode was issued a citation for following too closely, which is considered an infraction.

During the early hours of Wednesday, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the Olean Police arrested Anthony Joseph Gallo, a 34-year-old residing at 404 Alder St. Gallo was apprehended on a bench warrant associated with a charge of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. Following his arrest, Gallo was transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

Later that morning, at around 11:24 a.m., Courtney A. Morrison, a 30-year-old from Allegany, was taken into custody by the Olean Police. The arrest was made in relation to a warrant issued by the Olean City Court for third-degree assault, which is also a class A misdemeanor. Morrison was subsequently released with an appearance ticket.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Update

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported an arrest on Tuesday in the town of Freedom. Ashley M. Britt, a 38-year-old Freedom resident, was apprehended at 5:07 p.m. due to a bench warrant issued by the Erie County Court. Britt was then handed over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

New York State Police Updates

The New York State Police responded to several incidents in different locations:

East Otto Accident

At 7:13 a.m. on Tuesday, a one-vehicle accident occurred on East Otto-Springville Road near Maynard Road. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Kim Li J. Van Sickle from Cattaraugus, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Unfortunately, one injury was reported as a result of the accident.

Granger Accident

A one-vehicle accident was reported at 8:27 a.m. on Tuesday, this time on Route 15 near Smith Road in Granger. The driver involved was a 17-year-old resident of Hunt. Similar to the previous incident, one injury was reported.

Willing Larceny Charge

Francesca M. Maiden, a 35-year-old Wellsville resident, was charged at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. The charge stemmed from an incident reported on October 23. Maiden was released with an appearance ticket.

Angelica Accident

At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, a one-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of Horner and Peavy roads in Angelica. The driver, identified as John Scott Young, a 24-year-old from Nunda, sustained an injury in the accident.

Ischia Accident

A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12:44 p.m. on Tuesday on Five Mile Road near Steward Road in Ischia. Shannon M. Ross, a 44-year-old Franklinville resident, was identified as the driver involved. One injury was reported as a result of the incident.

Friendship Endangerment Charges

Alexander W. Cavanaugh, a 27-year-old from Friendship, was charged at 1:03 p.m. on Tuesday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 14. Cavanaugh was reported as being held.

Wellsville Accident

At 7:29 p.m. on Tuesday, a one-vehicle accident was reported on Route 417 near Williams Road in Wellsville. Calvin E. Pickens, a 68-year-old resident of Bath, was identified as the driver. Two injuries were reported in connection with the accident.
