Riverside County Pursuit Suspect and Accomplice Arrested After Wild Chase

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) — Law enforcement authorities successfully apprehended a pursuit suspect and another driver who attempted to aid her escape after a dramatic chase in Riverside County.

The incident unraveled on Tuesday afternoon when deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to a business establishment on Sunnymead Boulevard. They were called to address a situation involving a woman who refused to vacate her vehicle.

As deputies approached the driver, identified as 26-year-old Adriana Sandoval, she suddenly accelerated and nearly collided with one of the deputies, putting their lives in danger.

In her desperate attempt to evade capture, Sandoval initiated a dangerous pursuit on the 60 and 215 freeways, colliding with multiple innocent drivers along the way.

The chase eventually came to an end when Sandoval halted her vehicle on the 215 Freeway near Blaine Street in Riverside. Refusing to surrender, she barricaded herself inside the car, leading to a tense standoff with law enforcement.

During this standoff, another motorist, driving against the flow of traffic on the freeway, attempted to intervene and prevent the deputies from arresting Sandoval. However, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department successfully apprehended both Sandoval and her accomplice, identified as 24-year-old Johnathan Roldan.

Authorities discovered two young children in the back seat of Sandoval’s car. Thankfully, they were unharmed and promptly placed under protective custody.

Sandoval and Roldan were subsequently arrested and are now facing legal consequences for their actions. Sandoval is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
