Woman Arrested in Connection with Murder Case in Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Prince William County Police Department announced on Tuesday that they have apprehended a suspect in connection with the murder of a woman. The arrest took place in Prince George’s County, following an incident involving the Virginia State Police.

The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Karen Nicole Pollard. She is facing charges of murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to law enforcement officials, the investigation began on December 28 at approximately 7:55 a.m. when officers responded to a wooded area behind a business located in the 1200 block of Easy St in Woodbridge. The police were called to the scene to conduct a death investigation.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 51-year-old woman who had sustained gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as Patricia Kathlean Beglin.

Authorities have determined that the suspect, Karen Nicole Pollard, was acquainted with the victim. The shooting incident reportedly stemmed from a previous argument over the distribution of fentanyl pills.

Following the arrest, Pollard received medical treatment for minor injuries. She is currently in custody and will be extradited to Prince William County to face the charges against her.
