BALTIMORE — The 2000 block of Deering Avenue in South Baltimore was struck by tragedy when a six-year-old boy was fatally stabbed. The shocking incident has left neighbors in disbelief and searching for answers.

“What could that child have done that bad for you to stab him seven times,” questioned a neighbor who frequently witnessed the young boy playing across the street. The senseless act of violence has left the community in shock and mourning.

Another neighbor, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted how they learned about the stabbing. A family member of the victim arrived at their doorstep, seeking help. The neighbor shared, “The oldest son came over and knocked at our door. ‘I need your help,’ he said.” Concerned, the neighbor immediately contacted the police.

Officers from the Baltimore Police Department swiftly responded to the distress call. Detective Freddie Talbert provided details of the horrific incident, stating, “Officers located six-year-old Seron O’Neal in critical condition with multiple stab wounds.” Despite desperate attempts by O’Neal’s mother to render aid, the child was rushed to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

During the initial investigation, law enforcement discovered that O’Neal’s mother was present at the scene, desperately trying to save her child’s life. However, her boyfriend had already fled. The police swiftly launched a search for the suspect.

In a commendable display of efficiency, the Baltimore Police Department apprehended the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Alan Geslicki, in the Southwest District. Talbert shared, “A brief pursuit on foot ensued, but they were able to apprehend him without incident.” Geslicki was taken into custody during a car stop.

Neighbors have come forward, shedding light on Geslicki’s previous behavior towards O’Neal. They revealed that he had displayed open disdain and aggression towards the young boy in the past. “When it was snowing, he used to throw snow at the baby, but the way he threw it, it was clear he didn’t like him. He was always evil to the little boy. He would even shut his hands in the door,” one neighbor disclosed.

Geslicki is currently awaiting a bail review hearing and will face a series of charges, including First-Degree Murder. The community, still grappling with shock and grief, is seeking justice for the innocent child. “He deserves everything that’s going to come to him,” expressed one neighbor, retreating back into the safety of their home.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and support for one another during times of tragedy. The Baltimore community is united in mourning the loss of a young life and rallying behind the grieving family..
