Investigation Underway in Brunswick, Maryland Woman’s Suspicious death

BRUNSWICK, Md. – Police in Maryland are currently conducting a homicide investigation into the suspicious death of a woman found deceased in her home in Brunswick.

According to authorities, officers responded to a CPR call at around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the 300 block of 9th Avenue in Brunswick. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 61-year-old Tammy Coates.

The police immediately notified her next-of-kin about the tragic incident. Coates’ remains were subsequently taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for a thorough examination.

To aid in the investigation, the Brunswick police enlisted the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout the night and into the early morning hours, they meticulously processed the scene for any potential evidence.

Initially considered as a suspicious death based on the evidence found at the scene, authorities officially declared it a homicide investigation on January 23.
