Missing Man Identified as Deceased Person Found in Lowell, North Carolina

LOWELL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Gaston County Police Department has confirmed the identity of a man who was reported missing in late 2020. The remains found on Friday behind a home on South Church Street in Lowell belong to Sammie Bruce “Chip” Davis, who would have turned 54 in May. Davis was living at the residence when he went missing.

Authorities initiated a search on Friday, January 19, and discovered human remains on the property located in Lowell. The exact reason that led to the search is currently unclear.

The current occupants of the property, who started renting it last month, have no connection to the investigation. They were surprised by the discovery of the remains.

This investigation is ongoing, and the Gaston County Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward and contact Detective T. D. Pilkington at 704-866-3329 or Crimestoppers at 704-861-8000.
